Introduction to Writers Choice

I wrote this last article in total contrast to my style of writing. In my personal writing, I have always written about political conspiracy's, horror stories, or fictional characters, but writting about indirect affection between me and my girlfriend was fun. A fictional life about me and Linae, was very interesting and a total steer in a different direction. I personally like it, but let me know what you think...

A lifetime jog

A lifetime jog

Linae was such a beautiful person, but if you knew her long enough, you would know that she doesn’t give herself enough credit. Yes, she does notice people noticing her, but she just doesn’t have part of the self-esteem needed to assess her creditability in life. She has done so much for her family and is an extremely devoted friend.
The night was suppose to soak the streets, according to the weather man… but when was the last time he was right? No, tonight was just a warm and the scent of change lingered in the air.
It was Saturday and everyone was out and doing their things. The teenage mind set of a “Saturday” was like a group of cavemen who had just brought home that 400 pound Saber tooth tiger.
Everyone was happy when it was Saturday.
Linae was out with her boyfriend Benny, of 5 months, and they had just gotten to their friend David’s’ house. David had a home on Silver Lake and it was the first official weekend of summer. Well technically it was his dad’s house, but he was always over in Eastern Africa volunteering. David himself was a great friend to Linae, and they talked about everything. Every time Linae and Benny would fight, David would be right next to his cell waiting for Linae to call or text him.
Great friends come every once in a while. So hold onto them for a life time, or waste the time you used putting them into your life.
“DAMN!!!!” David shouted as he walked out of his house and passed the maze of cars already parked. “What’s up David!” Benny said back, with no enthusiasm as he closed the door behind Linae.
“So much for 20 minutes late right?” David walked up and gave Benny a handshake.
“Well we could have been here an HOUR ago, but you know how-”
“-Don’t even start Benny.” Linae warned him. David already knew that nothing was going to go great this night, but he kept that smile on his face and passed them both a beer as he invited them inside. Around the second month these two have dated, so about half way through, they’re relationship had hit its turning point already. They were having constant arguments over small things, and the words “I love you”, had not been used at all. Linae wasn’t sure where this was going, but as long as she wasn’t alone, she really didn’t care.
David could notice that she was putting up with the verbal torture, but he also knew that Linae was an extremely independent person and could handle things her own. If not, then she would have said something a while back. David felt as if she was trapped and tried to discuss with her this situation she was in, but Benny was just not having it.
The party was very laid back; with plenty of people. It was the perfect type of party that anyone could go to, with no fights, no drugs, no nothing, just a bunch of drinks and music.
Benny had left his phone in Linae’s purse and she heard it go off when he had just left for the bathroom. So she reached in and read the text that he had gotten from Paige, “Hey babe, you ditch the bitch yet?”
Linae wasn’t sure she was reading it write, so she read it a couple more times.
Yep. She read it exactly how she had read it the first 12 times.
This wasn’t just a random text; they had been fighting about Paige since that turning point in their relationship two months ago. And this did it… this finally pushed her past her limits.
No more second guessing and just assuming.
No more arguments without any proof.
Everything that needed to be there is now physically there on his phone.
She was aggravated and it felt like someone was scratching at her nerves. She knew exactly who was doing the scratching too… Paige. She wanted nothing more than to kill her at the moment, but first she would “take care” of Benny.
Linae walked around the huge house, and finally reached the bathroom, then she went to knock on the door but it opened by itself. No one was there.
She continued her tour of the house and then there was the kitchen where all the drinks where. She peeked around the corner and besides the plenty of people who were standing around to get a drink, she saw Benny standing next to Paige. He had just handed her a drink and was looking around like a kid getting ready to steal his first piece of candy. Linae whispered to herself, “…don’t do it…” but he did it anyways. He reached over and started to kiss her neck.
Linae grabbed the nearest bottle from some kid from her English class and stormed Benny’s way.
“Benny!” Linae shouted and he turned around. Before he could make a full 180, she cracked that bottle off the side of his head and he fell back on the ground screaming, with his head in his hands. She wasn’t done there either; she cocked her arm back and leveled Paige with a broken nose.
David walked over and Linae ran out the front door.
“Where did Linae go?” David asked the entire audience, but no one knew.
Linae ran left out of the street and ran down a quiet street crying her pain away, but it wouldn’t go away. Her emotion pain was building up ever since they started this relationship, and now it just exploded, over the head of Benny and the nose of Paige. With the type of person Linae was, she didn’t deserve anything less than a perfect guy. Her cries were short and didn’t travel far, but they reached just barely enough to change her life forever.
As she crossed a 4-way stop, which was dead due to the time of night, she had just passed Bobby. Bobby was a descent guy himself and was still reminiscing about a lost cause that night. He had fallen in love with a girl that had already had a man, and eventually he knew he couldn’t have her no more. His first real heart break and he was out on the streets walking and remembering. He had just left his brothers house and did not want to see or hear from anyone. The remarks he heard from everyone were no directly saying “I told you so,” but most certainly revolved around that statement. His heart had put him through enough and he didn’t need to hear it from anyone else. He was a very sentimental guy and thought a lot. You would probably understand him more if you read his stories he wrote, listened to the music he loved to write, and followed his fictional blogs.
Bobby noticed her and something from an unknown part of his being told him to follow to her. He heard her short breathes and her pain being dripped from her gorgeous golden brown eyes. Nothing would explain WHY he would have followed her this night, but he did. He started to pick up the pace to match her speed, and as he did, it started to rain. Not pouring, but the type of sprinkling that would tease the dessert.
“Hey,” Bobby tried to announce to her, but she just kept running; he stayed with her.
“Hey lady what’s wrong?”
“Leave me alone.” She demanded as she cried even harder. If there was one thing that bobby was good at, it was reading a person. Other than the obvious sadness, her voice was not convincing at all and Bobby knew that Linae couldn’t be alone tonight.
“My name is Bobby.”
“…” she opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something. But nothing was coming out. Bobby’s anticipation was eating him alive; he would do whatever he had to tonight… just to know her name.
“My name is Linae” she said it as if she had just been hit with some sort of relief and started to slow her running down to a jog.
“That’s a very interesting name.” He replied as he met her eyes for the first time and nothing from there would ever be the same.
“Interesting?”
“Yea your name is very interesting. I know I could have said ‘your name is nice, or pretty’ and don’t get me wrong because your name is both nice and pretty too. But interesting just fits your name Linae.” She looked over at him and right away started to study his intentions. She could feel there was something different about this person, but she just couldn’t get to the conclusion… and she most definitely wanted to.
“What are you doing Bobby?”
“Running… what are you doing” he had almost melted when he heard her use his name.
“No. Answer the question; I know you know what I mean.” With everything that she said, he just grew more intrigued with her assertive, yet polite, tone of voice.
“Honestly I couldn’t tell you anything more than the obvious. I just saw you running past me, you looked sad, and I wanted to see if there was anything I could do to help you… is there anything I could help you with tonight? Would you like to stay over at my brothers with me tonight? It’s right around the corner and we can talk about it.”
“No, that fine, but thank you Bobby,” she stopped in her tracks and he turned towards her, “but would you stay with me tonight? I can’t be alone.”
Once she had asked that question, Bobby would never leave her heart for the rest of their lives, “of course…” and he keep jogging with her, “…come one” he welcomed her with a very warm and promising smile.
They ran more than 22 blocks together and in that time, they felt the full extent of the word “Love” that night.
Linae had a beta fish.
Bobby liked to play basketball, by himself though.
Linae loved the color pink but didn’t have an official color ONE favorite color.
Bobby loved Filipino food.
Linae was very organized.
Bobby was just a simple person.
Linae was lost.
Bobby found her.

They found a small grass hill to rest on and they waited three hours for the sun to come. They got together and spent several years together. He popped the question and she made him the happiest man ever. They had great years together.
They traveled a lot.
They got a puppy
They collected 1,000 DVDs.
They got matching tattoos.
They watched the sunset on a forbidden beach.
They took cruises.
They got great jobs.
And then they had two beautiful children and their dreams came true. They watched those kids grow up and at they’re late stages of life they visited that hill one more time and watched the sun come up, one last time… it was a perfect ending to an absolute beginning.

Intro to Effective Writing paper

The next paper I wrote in English 98 was my Effective Writing paper. This paper was a Definition paper, meaning that we chose a word that related to the book we were reading (Three Cups of Tea) and defined the word in a 3-page essay. I chose the word, which is actually a verb, "To strive". At the time, the word sounded like a great source to start a good paper, but after thinking about my topics of discussion, I knew that the word would be most difficult. Describing a word can be easy, but describing a verb is a little harder. Examples and personal experiences were major strengths I had in this paper, and these were also things that made the paper possible. If I could change anything about it now, I would probably change the word I chose, and choose an easier word... not a verb

Intro to Critical Thinking/Analysis piece

The article that I picked for my Critical Thinking paper was my last Major Writing Assignment. It was named, "Nuke-clear", and it was a persuassion paper. In this particular essay, we were suppose to find a topic to discuss and then try to bring out a point. I chose to try and persuade in this paper, the total removal of Nuclear Weapons. This was a big subject to pick because its a worldwide topic, rather than picking something about "Why we shouldnt smoke on college campus's," or what not. The most difficult part of this essay is convicing people WHY we shouldnt have nuclear weapons. Other than the obvious-known reasons, some people are not fully aware of the situation and think that we have nuclear weapons for retaliation or defense. So convincing people otherwise would take critical thinking and jaw-dropping facts. I picked this topic because I wanted to write about this a while back but never got the chance. The strongest point of this essay are the facts that surround my argument. Statistics and precise information are of grave importance for a paper like this. The other dilema in this paper is that I needed to find reliable information I could use, for a backbone in this paper. I thought the overall outcome of this essay was fairly good, but you can be the Critic on that one.

Intro to Major Writing Assignment

My first Major Writing Assignment, in English 98, was a compare and contrast paper. I labeled it "In Between the Lines". In this paper I chose to compare modern day hip hop music to poetry. I chose to write about these two things because I love writing music and before I was actually infatuated with Hip-Hop music, I started liking poetry first. So it was real nice writing about these two things. The one thing that really showed in this first paper, and you can notice, is that it seemed like I was writing for or favored one side more. I did favor the music more and that was something that was most definently brought to my intentions. You will notice as you read this paper that I do give a clear view of the line, between Poetry and Music, but its also obvious that the paper is one sided. If I could fix anything next time, it would be that I take more appreciation for both articles that I chose.

Nuke-Clear

Nuke-Clear
Seven years since the war in Iraq there have been a little over 4,000 casualties, but the amount of bodies counted in this amount of time is nothing compared to what happened in 1945. On August 6, 1945 an estimated 100,000 people were killed because of the use of a nuclear weapon, but this number would reach nearly 200,000 over the next five years because of the continuing effects of nuclear radiation. I believe that the total eradication of Nuclear weapons would be best for humanity because they are so dangerous, unnecessary, and because of what might happen if we keep them.
Although people have seen pictures and cartoons use a mushroom cloud to demonstrate a big explosion, the public is unaware of the total power and danger a nuclear weapon. A nuclear bomb could be no bigger than a car and still level a city and leave a big handprint on its victims. When these bombs are detonated, or used, great disaster occurs. A brief blinding flash is then accompanied by a great thermal heat blast that vaporizes anything within a mile. After the blast, a firestorm is created by massive winds and heat that burns everything around. Winds are actually pulled back to the blast-point so it burns and sucks everything back into the explosion area. After all this damage is done, radiation lingers from the cloud of the explosion and has great affects on life around the explosion. If someone wasn’t killed by the first explosion, they would be killed by the firestorm. If they weren’t killed by the firestorm and they were further away, they would be exposed to the radiation and develop radiation sickness. After a nuclear explosion occurs the radiation from the bomb lingers and it could be a couple days or months before the waste fully decays. If someone survived the explosion, but suffered from radiation sickness they would feel the effects in weeks. Some people, after a nuclear explosion, developed cancer from the radiation and would later die. This is why the number of casualties’ sky rocketed from 100,000 people to almost double in five years, because the survivors suffered from the radiation and later would die from it. The bombs’ explosion that dropped on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945 was measured at an estimated 15 kilotons which is the equivalent of 15,000 tons of TNT. With our current day science we have the capabilities to make the same size bomb as Hiroshima, but much more powerful. Imagine a bomb being detonated in Seattle, Washington. If the weapon was measured at any higher than the one used in Hiroshima, it would not only devastate Seattle, but probably nearby cities, like Everett. The explosion would level buildings and set fire to all the trees, starting extremely dangerous firestorms. It would shake buildings and knock out window miles away from the initial explosion. In Hiroshima, the target was mainly a military base.
So instead of thoroughly destroying part of Hiroshima, a small precision strike would have been more effective and less negligent. Nuclear weapons are both unnecessary by cost and performance. They are cannot be considered national defense because they do not defend anything, they are only offensive tools. Our military has nuclear interception tactics like small scatter missiles that would have a high success rate of force-detonating the nuke in flight. Even though no current offensive uses of nuclear weapons have been used, the fact that we still have them is an issue. Why have nuclear weapons then? They are very costly and unnecessary too. The Manhattan Project alone (which were the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan), cost an estimated 20 Billion dollars. There are many new weapons that can be more effective now than using nuclear bombs and the Tomahawk Missile is one of them. Instead of having a huge and wild explosion, why not have a smaller and more efficient weapon that only costs an average of 1.5 million dollars. The Tomahawk Missile is a precision weapon that can be guided by a human. With having this new age weapon, there should be no more reasons to the existence of nuclear weapons. The Tomahawk Missile can be guided to a hidden base and minimize unnecessary deaths, including civilian lives. Although the bomb dropped on Hiroshima was meant only for a base, there is no doubt in any person’s mind that they knew how powerful that bomb was GOING to be.
There are nine known countries that possess nuclear weapons: The United States, Russia, United Kingdom, France, China, India, Pakistan, Israel, and North Korea. With all these countries there are more than 22,000 weapons, not all which are active though. All these nations combined, have enough nuclear weapons to blow the world up 10 times over. The thought alone is staggering. If there is that possibility, then why should we even second guess keeping them and what might happen if we keep nuclear weapons? With our modern day technology, instead of eliminating nuclear weapons we have found a way to modernize these weapons. If we continue to keep nuclear weapons and programs in existence, we are also inviting other gateways to more horrible weapons, such as biological or chemical wareheads. The scientists of the world have found a way to make more effective nuclear weapons and they are: Chemical and Biological weapons. With the weapons today there is no question that the United States couldn’t make a Chemical Weapon that could contain a large amount of Anthrax. If a weapon like this was detonated in a large population of people, the results would be horrifying. Infecting a whole group of people with such a terrifying disease that easily spreads is very inhuman. Not to say that any of this is or has been done, but there is always the possibility with the way our technology is developing. If we are to keep nuclear weapons and we go to nuclear war with another country like North Korea, we could cause a nuclear winter. Nuclear winter is only theory, but what it is, is what happens IF two countries had a nuclear war and deployed a large amount of nuclear weapons. The amount of things being burned would cause enormous amount of clouds that would block out the sun and dramatically change the weather. The temperature would drop to freezing and it would be like that for years. With this happening, the ozone would deteriorate and human health problems would take effect. If the world is to keep nuclear weapons and we have a nuclear war, where will you hide?
Nuclear weapons are dangerous, extremely unnecessary and if we had a nuclear war, how would things actual happen? I don’t think that we should have ever created such a weapon but as long as we feel like we are in power with having these weapons, nothing will ever change.

Strive

Strive
It’s the action of following through on a personal commitment. It comes after someone has made a promise or determined what they have to do and is before overall accomplishment or complete failure. It’s pushing towards a goal that has been set; it’s the word Strive. Strive comes from motivation, and motivation comes from promise or commitment that a person has made. The things that make strive possible are promise, dedication, and respect.
Promise creates reason to strive and the promise Greg Mortenson made to Haji Ali is a great example. In the book Three Cups of Tea, written by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin, there is a mountain climber named Greg Mortenson. He promised for his sister, who would later die from massive seizures, that we would climb one of the world’s highest peaks and leave her necklace there in her memory. Wanted to do this created motivation for Mortenson and began his strive to complete his mission. Although he failed in his attempt to fully scale the mountain, Mortenson stumbled onto something else that he would want do. In an isolated tribe, in Korphe, Pakistan, there is a village that is in great need of education. Greg Mortenson promises to the village leader, Haji Ali, “I will build you a school… I promise.”So he sets out on a great odyssey to build a school. Strive does not come out of thin air, someone needs to have purpose to do so. This promise made to a poor village gave purpose for Greg Mortenson to strive to build a school.
Strive is the actual dedication towards struggle and does not exist unless obstacles do. An example of dedication is the NFL team, The Seattle Seahawks. The year that Shaun Alexander was MVP, Most Valuable Player, he had played a majority of the season with a broken wrist. Although he had a broken wrist he strived to help his team reach the Super Bowl. Being a runner in the NFL requires you to use all parts of your body including your wrist, so playing with a handicap like he did and still leading his team to the Super Bowl is an extreme example of dedication. Another simple gesture of dedication is the way that NFL player Larry Fitzgerald plays football. He is a wide receiver, and every time he goes to catch the ball, he will put himself into any kind of outcome in order to catch the ball. This would be a means of physical dedication. Some duties are more severe than others, while on the other hand, there are such missions that only are done for the fun of it, like playing professional football. Even though Shaun Alexander didn’t have to travel to 3rd world countries and build schools, he still had to strive to achieve greatness in the NFL. Like Greg Mortenson, his mission to complete the school in Korphe, required great sacrifice and required him to strive very hard to complete it. The word strive is much underrated and its definition falls into many situations, regardless of the severity or length.
To strive is to have boundless determination to succeed. Even though the word strives is a verb or an action, it is also being honorable and respectful to a person’s word or commitment. Respect is something of great importance in the overall outcome of someone’s mission. When someone finally completes something, they don’t want to look back and see that they had stepped on people while they strived to accomplish. It’s not just about finishing something, but maintaining a great morale in respecting the people they work with and the things they encounter. If respect is kept during an adventure, there may be things waiting for them that they didn’t expect, like friends or connections for the future.
Striving is being true and not second guessing oneself (Being realistic is fine, but trying to find any reason NOT to follow through is being inconsistent and untrustworthy). It’s not procrastinating. Not to say everything needs to be done in a timely fashion, but maybe your word won’t mean much if it’s put off for so long. If Greg Mortenson would have procrastinated and not prioritized himself and then returned to Korphe, Pakistan 20 years later to build the school, it probably wouldn’t have meant as much.
Finally after one has strived, and after all the hardships, they can safely say they were true to their word and can feel comfortably accomplished. There are going to be a lot of things that are going to require us to strive, whether they’re small things or extremely important, regardless, what is really going to matter is that you were faced with a dilemma and you worked through it.

In Between the Lines

In Between the Lines

“To be or not to be?”(William Shakespeare) or “She wears a dress to the tea like the letter.”(Dwayne Carter) These were two lines from two writers, from two different timelines. Poetry is very closely related to the songs being written these days in the 2000 era; both pieces written are from two different times, but the idea of their word playing is very much the same . The process of writing, the audience, and history of writers are things that hold songs and poetry together. The line between poetry and songwriting is a very thin one.
For a poet, the words being wrote are very smooth, poetic, and intelligently displayed. In order for people to read it like this, you need to first take into consideration the process. For advanced playwriting and novels, it requires great detail. Like writing dialogues and intense dramatic scenes, like ones from “Hamlet”, takes a lot of time, thought, editing, and finalizing. Another form of writing poetry is free-writing which is just writing poetry “Off the top of your head”, in simple poetry though, the writer can just sit there and write what they observe, what they feel, what they love, or what they hate. When they have found something interesting you want to write about you can then think about what kind of style you want to write about like a Limericks which is a 5-lined poem with a punch line, or a Sonnet which is to follow a strict rhyming scheme and specific structure of 14-lines.
When writing a song, in the correct genre, it also takes plenty of effort and structure. As time has gone by, technology has changed music, but the basics are still the same. An average hip-hop song consists of 16 lines (bars) and an 8 bar chorus. First you sing 16 bars, then comes the chorus, then another 16, then you repeat the chorus again, and then the last 16 bars. When singing you have to keep up with the tempo so, as a beginner you use a metronome (which ticks left to right and helps you keep cadence, or timing. A singer will need to be able to hit each word in each line, at a specific timing in order to present a good piece of work), but as you develop you will just be able to feel the music behind your words. Because of our technology, our editing system has changed, so a lot of singers sound more divine over the radio.
In both songs and poems if written by the right mind can sound deep and intelligent. A line from Edgar Allen Poe, “…but evil things, in robes and sorrow, assailed the monarchy’s high estates… ” sounded very deep and dark. In another line from current singer Dwayne Carter, as I mentioned in the beginning, “She wears a dress to the Tea, like the letter” was a very smartly written line.
The audience that poets have attracted has been poetry clubs, movies (Romeo and Juliet), Literacy Critics (Edgar Allen Poe), and columnists. People who appreciate the art of literature attend these events to be entertained by these words. Not to say that poetry hasn’t generated audiences, but now day’s people are more interested in music rather than poetry. Music/songs have attracted many audiences through the radio and concerts. A number of songs create a CD, and at least one of those songs should help the album stand out. In 2008, the radio station Kube 93 hosted its notorious “Summer Jam”. With around 65,000 people attending at roughly 9 dollars a seat (Prices varied as the seat came closer to the stage, where the music artists preformed), they produced a little over half a million dollars not including concessions, parking, etc. Even though there is a great amount of money to be made through the production of songs, the music industry is a very “Ify” business. Nothing is guaranteed.
Throughout history, there have been some great poets such as William Shakespeare, Langston Hughes, and Edgar Allen Poe. They were men who not only wrote poetry, but expanded their talent into other areas such as novelist, a poetic critic, or short stories. Shakespeare is a very well known poet for writing such plays as “Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, and all the series of Henry”. Langston Hughes also wrote plays. He also wrote short stories and was a novelist. A famous line from Hughes was, “…I know rivers ancient as the world and older than the flow of human blood in human veins…My soul has grown deep like the rivers… ”
Some current writers are Marshall Mathers, Shawn Corey Carter, Dwayne Carter, and Curtis Jackson. All these artists are very talented but the difference is in they're desired success. Shaw Carter and Curtis Jackson have become extremely successful people. Shawn has taken small ownership in the New York Jets football team and he is president of Rocawear. Curtis Jackson signed a footwear contract with Reebok and is actively involved in Real Estate; both men are entrepreneurs. While those two men are artists and wealthy people, Dwayne and Marshall are the same. They have produced a lot of money and a name for themselves. But they have gotten to the certain point in their career, because they wish to be there. Marshall writes in a way that would be able to explain a specific episode in his life, and Dwayne writes in a very intelligent way.
Poetry and songs are very much closely related. Majority of people tend to focus on their current trends of music, songs ranging from country and jazz, to rock and R & B. But they should at least acknowledge the fact that some of their famous musicians are great fans of poetry and a lot of their work is inspired by it . Times have changed, but the wordplay hasn’t. The songs today are nothing more but manipulated poems with music in the background.

My Origins

Bobby’s Origins
Fairmount Park. Fairmount is right off Airport Road, here in Everett, Washington. If you’re going to know who I am, you’re going to need to know where I came from. My name is Bobby and Fairmount Park is where I was made. My family and I, with my two sisters, who would be three sisters later, moved in to this place at the end of 8th grade. Moving there at this point of my life would set up for a great time at high school.
Fairmount Park used to be military housing for the Navy, but that’s just what I heard. As far as the stories go back, thats the only one i believe and because I dont know the offical first person to live there, there is not a lot to go off of. This was a complex of duplex’s, with great fields for football and woods for tree-houses. Me and my best friend/brother Kurtus, built a tree house outside a vacant unit one summer. By the time the summer was over, we were done and the house looked great, but it didnt last long. Someone else moved in and they tore it down because it was in their backyard.
We moved there from Reflections by the Lake, which was a nice apartment complex next to silver lake, and at first there was nothing new about another place to live at. But that was before I met everyone.
When I lived in Fairmount, I was introduced to a LOT of things. I grew fascinated with my imagination and always wrote short stories for both school and myself. My freshman year at Mariner High School I had a piece, of a short story of mine, published into the Argo book. The Argo book was a book full of all types of literature: paintings, drawings, poems, short stories, etc. That was the boost of confidence I needed.
My uncle Tony, out of nowhere, came to stay with us for a while and he gave me some life lessons. He taught me how to fight, which was something that I would need to know considering the fact that two weeks later I would have gotten jumped by two people. It was WASL week so I got to sleep in as a Sophmore. Once I woke up, got dressed, ate some food, I left the house. On a back street to Mariner High School two tall guys apporached me and asked for some change. I told them I didnt have any (When in reality, i had well over $200 of valued things in my pockets) and they said "Empty your pockets or im going to start swinging". Of course I'm not going to empty out my pockets for THEM, so I stepped back and took the beating. It could have been alot worse if my uncle wouldnt have taught me what he knows. But most importantly he introduced me to music.
Music is such a powerful representation of knowledge and understanding of life. I feed of the beats of songs and created great music, I absolutely loved the wordplay. Writing music exercises my mind, and with a lot of life experience from the streets, it just creates a very exciting theme to my music.
I just couldn’t get enough of music. With my stories intertwined with my songs, I became a very strong lyricist, or at least my confidence told me so. I thought I was a great writer and so did my peers, but as I progressed through my high school English classes, I noticed room for great improvement.
Coming into this College English class I had STILL not developed ability for analysis in music. But since I have started this class, I have grabbed that common sense to transition between paragraphs and take feedback towards a great cause. I have learned a lot in this class and so far I have incorporated every single bit into my writing, making me a better and more effective writer. If I were to give you my recorder that i have all my music on and let you listen to every single song from beginning to end, you would notice the improvemnt on transitions (easy to follow), or my work of emphasism.
To keep my dreams more realistic for the moment, I plan to take on my degree in nursing. But I honestly hope and I strictly have faith in the fact that one day I will skip all the underground music and hit the top charts as one of the smartest and most fluent writers of these days.
But for the mean time I'm going to have you look at a couple of my writing articles. I chose four pieces to represent my development to a better writer and they are: My Major Writing Assingment, Critical Thinking, an Effective Writing Paper, and my Writers Choice.
